About Dr. Kiren
I have spent more than 16 years working in family medicine across the UK and the UAE, caring for patients whose health concerns are often more complex than a single symptom or diagnosis.
For me, good family medicine begins with understanding the whole person.
Many patients come to see me because they have several symptoms at once, have already seen different doctors or specialists, or have been told that individual test results are normal despite still not feeling well. My role is to step back, listen carefully and bring those different pieces together so we can understand what may actually be contributing to how you feel.
I believe investigations should always have a clear clinical purpose. More testing does not necessarily mean better medicine. I take the time to understand your symptoms, medical history, mental wellbeing, lifestyle and stage of life before deciding which investigations, treatments or referrals are genuinely appropriate.
My clinical interests include general and preventive family medicine, women’s health, family planning and sexual health, mental health and functional medicine. I am particularly interested in caring for patients with symptoms that cross several areas of medicine, patients managing several health concerns at once and those who are simply unsure where to begin.
-My background in psychology also plays an important role in the way I practise. Physical and mental health are closely connected, and understanding both can be essential when trying to make sense of ongoing or unexplained symptoms.
Before joining The Spierings Medical Group, I was Medical Director and Head of Family Medicine at Clemenceau Medical Centre Dubai. In this role, I led multidisciplinary clinical teams, developed evidence based clinical pathways and was responsible for maintaining clinical quality and standards across the department.
I continue to maintain my British medical licence and practise within the NHS each year. This allows me to remain connected to UK clinical practice while bringing extensive experience of healthcare in the UAE to my patients in Dubai.
My aim is for every patient to leave with a clearer understanding of their health, confidence in the decisions being made and a practical plan for what happens next.
Sometimes the most important thing in medicine is not another test or another referral. It is having one doctor who can see the bigger picture.
